Is that it really isn’t that fun when you a terrible at it!

I think Senator Obama would agree:

I kid, bowling is really about the $1.50 beers and who you bowl with. It’s just good times with Boomer, Dave, Matt D (of Bowtie Betting fame), and myself. We have about the same press coverage as the senator had.

I know Boomer takes pics on his phone of his bowling scores, I think maybe I should start doing that to prove to the world that, yes, I really am as bad at bowling as I claim. My average last night was around 110ish, maybe a bit more, but the point is that bowling isn’t a game. It’s serious stuff when you bowl with the pros I do. Maybe we should do a “Bowl with the WestSideWill Crew” event at the local brunswick zone.

I dunno…I’ll have Dave bring a camera next week so you all can enjoy what we are doing! Have a great Thursday night and don’t forget to check out The Return of Boomer & The Nooge and The Top 10 Unsigned Artist Countdown Presented by: Digital Disc Duplication at 8pm Central time Friday Night!!!!!

Bowling Night!

Last night was bowling night, and we did go out there and keep it real on the lanes. Let me be very honest though, I don’t really recall bowling that much cause I’m not a fan of the game, I’m a fan of the $1 beers. It was a good time.

But here is where the fun started, after bowling Hot Joel and I hit up the casino. Now I’m not gambling expert like our friends at Bowtie Betting, but I did well for myself. I hit up the video poker machine and doubled my cash in a little over an hour. Hot Joel on the other hand didn’t fare so well. I think that winning and drinking are directly linked. The more you drink the more you win, and the more you win the more you drink.

Anywhooo let’s talk about the big news story of the day:

As I’ve noted in a previous blog those two Georgia guys who say they found Big Foot were actually pulling a fast one on us! Shocker right? But here is the fun part, the 2 are now on the run from a promoter who gave them $50,000! How long can you hide out on $50,000? I think once our 2 heroes actually get out of Georgia they are going to learn you can’t live the rest of your life on $50,000.

This was their grand scheme? Get $50,000…then what? Retire?

Not a real well thought out plan…but an enjoyable plan to watch come to fruition!

Have a good Thursday!

Bowling!!!!!!

Yes yes! It’s Wednesday night so you know it’s bowling night for us here at WestSideWill Radio!!!!! Matt D., Myself, Johnson, Big Mack, Parker, and Andy all got together to have a great bowling night without Dave!!!

I had a terrible game, but without Dave there it didn’t seem so bad! Actually I did terrible. Here is a fun fact: My Name was “Mr 100.” and my average over the 4 games was 100!!!!

Amazing.

The Winner was probably MACK, or Andy, Or MATT. I dunno, I know it wasn’t me or Johnson. She is pretty much worse than me. It was a fun game, I’m glad we bowled, although without Dave’s leadership we were lost!

Have a great Wednesday Night/Thursday morning!!!!

Day 9 of the diet, nothing really to report. I’m pretty tired of not eating meat but what can I do?

Here is the real issue, yesterday was bowling day! And we actually went bowling this week instead of having everyone ditch out at the very last minute last week (thanks to Dave and his ability to plan ahead!)

Bowling was OK, it wasn’t great. I didn’t really feel like bowling with everyone who ditched out on us anyway so my game was sub par. The good news is that I was searching youtube and found a kind of funny bowling blooper video. It has to be from the early 90’s or so. There are a lot of fake “bloopers” on youtube so it was nice to see in the 90’s when people screwed up they did it by mistake, not for attention. (Take note of that kids on youtube who fake their bowling accidents, you just look like tools!)

Enjoy!

(The “High Five” at :37 makes this video all worth it!)

Have a great Thursday!

This may come as a shock to everyone, but I’m awful at bowling. Not just awful, maybe one of the worst bowlers you have ever seen. Today my HIGH game was a 130ish…which I think is pretty great but among all the WestSideWill employees I stink.

Here is a quick rundown of the high scores (From what I remember, it was $1 beers so…)

Dave 220ish…or maybe it was like 240ish, I dunno it was the last game and I think he hit like 7 strikes in a row!

Boomer aka Boomtown 200ish…I think, again I’m not too sure, maybe that is a little bit high? He wasn’t on his game today.

Mark(Intern) I think he hit like 160, which is a really really high game. At least better than me.

The Nooge 120ish, but I looked good bowling. Nope, that’s not true either, I’m a bad bowler and look like a doofus bowling. I think just about any random can beat me.

Anywhooo, those are tonights scores as best I can remember. I’m not sure they are accurate, I think Boomtown or Dave will come on the blog and correct me!

Have a great rest of your Wednesday and remember to vote for your favorite bands for the top 10 that airs every Friday at 8pm Central on www.westsidewill.com/radio!

Handshakes and High Fives

Is it me, or has there been nothing exciting in the entertainment world lately? It’s not like I purposefully skip writing blogs or anything, there’s just been nothing to talk about. Honestly. All of the big news around here has been all sports-related: the Cubs/White Sox, the NBA Finals, the whole Big Brown/horse racing thing, and so on. Although, I suppose I can briefly mention how a week or two ago, CBS became the first major network to nationally televise Mixed Martial Arts in a primetime TV slot. Basically, it was a chance for them to show the world who Kimbo Slice is. For those who don’t know, he garnered fame on Youtube fighting random people for money so that he could, well, stay alive and not be homeless. Kidding aside, he still looks homeless even while making six figures doing MMA. Anyways, he has gone from internet phenomenon, much like Vertical Jones, to MMA media darling since everyone is so desperate to promote his next fight against a nobody.

Perhaps the only real news of the day is that today is the weekly bowling extravaganza for the Nooge, Dave “the superfreak,” and myself. Last time, Matt D. graced us with his presence and showcased his hall-of-fame form that made him a hardwood legend back in the early 90’s. We’ll see who will become a legend tonight. My guess it’s the first girl that lays her eyes on Dave.

keep hustlin,

Matt

The Hollywood scene is lacking again today, unless you count information on the new “X-Files” movie being released. However, not only did I never watch “X-Files,” I was never even remotely interested. So with that being said, I’d like to give you a little recap of last night at the bowling alley.
It has become a bit of a tradition for Dave, the Nooge, and myself to go bowling on Wednesday nights. The local lanes offer a $1 games/$1 beers special and we like to go out and enjoy ourselves. The bowling itself is fun, but nothing beats watching Dave eyeball underage girls. A damn hawk, I tell you. And believe me, there’s nothing girls are attracted to more than a man with a nice bowling stroke. And Dave does have a pretty back swing.
Another great thing about bowling nights is the Nooge and my self’s ability to hustle people. I’m pretty consistent with my games, but that Nooge, dammit is he ever the X-Factor. The man could bowl an 80 as easily as he could bowl a 250, honestly. I just close my eyes and hope for somewhere in between at the very least. He wasn’t on his A-game last night, but he was good enough for us to win enough money to enjoy a nice frosty from Wendy’s. And isn’t that what hustling is all about — getting a frosty afterwards?
That’s it for today. Everyone go out and enjoy the nice weather, maybe throw the baseball around and grill a few hot dogs.

holler,

Matt
