Barack Obama!

Did anyone ever doubt that? I think at one point it seemed like it would be fairly close, but in the end it didn’t really finish that way.

I think one of the really neat things to take away from this election was how good John McCain’s concession speech was. I think that just confirms that both of these candidates would have done a fine job and were fine men.

I don’t think people who say McCain is the devil or any of that crap are anywhere near being correct, that said I don’t think anyone who thinks Obama will do a poor job are right either.

We lucked out, we finally had a year where we had 2 great candidates…and that’s all you can really ask for!

Handshakes and High Fives,

So I went to vote at like 1:20 today, not too crowded, it never is. Anywhooo here is something interesting we MAY or MAY NOT hear about in the coming hours, but it’s good to know what it is:

- The Bradley Effect

The Bradley effect, less commonly called the Wilder effect,[1][2] is a theory proposed to explain observed discrepancies between voter opinion polls and election outcomes in some US government elections where a white candidate and a non-white candidate run against each other.[3][4][5] The theory proposes that some voters tend to tell pollsters that they are undecided or likely to vote for a black candidate, and yet, on election day, vote for his white opponent. It was named after Tom Bradley, an African-American who lost the 1982 California governor’s race despite being ahead in voter polls going into the elections.[6]

Source: Wikipedia

What does this mean? It just means that the polls predicting a HUGE win for Obama may be wrong. White voters tend to “fib” a bit about who they are voting for, after all they may be seen as racist! Or…in my opinion they may just be seen as idiots for lying in an OPINION POLL! Apparently this effect does exist to some extent, so it’s going to be interesting to watch.

Just wanted to drop some knowledge!

It’s roughly 10:50 am on election day here in Illinois and I think I’m going to head out to vote at like 1 or 2…honestly though in Illinois my vote for president doesn’t really matter of OB doesn’t win his “home” state that is traditionally democratic something is seriously weird with this election. That’s why I said I’m going to write in Alicia Sacramone…

Anywhooo…here are some updates you all can check out:

-Karl Rove (GOP aka Republican political adviser to Bush for his 2 election wins) predicts Obama by a LANDSLIDE. Source: CNN

-Can there be a tie today? Yep, check out the scenarios that can lead to a tie:
A tie is like kissing your sister!

-How do you vote…are you kidding? Pshhhhhhhh, i’m sure this will help someone out so I’m going to link to it…but I’m not happy about it:
Hi, I’m here…wait I needed an ID to vote…weird

-As of 10:50am Obama has won 2 super small New Hampshire towns…one of them Dixville, I don’t know about you but I don’t want to live in any sort of dixville…
15-6…that’s like a football score…I guess only 21 people want to actually live in Dixville

Aight, that’s all I have for right now, I’ll keep making posts throughout the day!

One of the things I enjoy most about watching TV during the pre-election day craziness is hearing how crazy some people really are. It’s funny what the elections bring out of people, it’s like the Devil is running against Mother Teresa (and depending on who you support the roles are given out).

People are nuts, and based on that thought I don’t think anyone should be allowed to vote who says something that dumb. It’s an election for the president of the United States, these guys aren’t running for GOD. While they have a lot of power they also have a lot of checks in place to make sure they don’t do anything goofy. I know someone is going to say, “Well what about Bushy and his war in Iraq?” Congress voted to give him the green light and the paper to have that little war. Or “What about the deregulation of mortgage companies?” Again, congress had a HUGE hand in that.

The point here is that when you vote tomorrow, you aren’t just voting for the president, you are voting for a whole slew of people who will probably have more impact on your day to day life than the president. So brush up on your stuff people!

And get ready to watch some AWESOME TV tomorrow! I love how crazy the Pundits and Extreme Right and Left get! It’s the best TV you can watch that comes around 1 time every 4 years (Except the Olympics this year because I think Alicia Sacramone is hot).

Without further ado, here is The Nooge endorses for President:

Alicia Sacramone...I think given the opportunity I\'d have a shot at her
My write-in Vote for President. Did you see her knock that one nerd out? She’s tough on the issue I care about, knocking nerdy fake frat guys out!

Wait…she’s only 20? Pshhhhhhh who cares, I live in Illinois if the Deomcratic candidate doesn’t win this state then something is seriously wrong with our make up fake votes system!

If you listen to Thursday’s show, you know that Boom and I are pretty much against all things political that try to bully or demean on party or another.

We had a song on the show for Today (Thursday) that rips on President Bush. We try to stay out of the political spectrum, but this song kind of brought us into it. We do believe in playing all Unisgned Music that gets submitted to us, even the political ones (regardless of how we feel).

For some reason we decided to speak up tonight, it wasn’t because of the song’s musical value (it was actually really good for a rough mix) but it was for the fact we hate bullies (political or otherwise).

On that note, Thursday’s show, turned into one big tangent by Boomtown and myself to state that we hate things like that. It’s a slippery slope, if you record a diss song on someone who will not/cannot defend themselves you better make damn sure it’s a hot track or you should be dissed. Anyone can pick on a target that won’t diss you back (and frankly, that is exactly what a bully is).

So…you guys can cleary see that political songs get under our skin…while I’m sure there are a lot of people who appreciate what they are and what they stand for, we don’t. But we played the song anyway because clearly there is a group that makes, and appreciates, this type of music.

What does this all mean to us? Not a whole lot. We hate it, and liked the musical value, we played it, we respect the musical aspects of it all but hate the message. Everyone should be entitled to their opinion without having some outside force step in and say they are wrong (puff daddy?). It’s with this in mind that I present to you CNN.com’s list of where the different political candidates stand on each issue. (Honestly, it’s hard for us to disrespect a diss song if that’s truely how they feel, even if we feel like that type of music is just wrong, it’s the honest opinion of the artist).

Remember as you are reading this list, it matters who you agree with not who your friends agree with. This isn’t an election based on sex, race, religion, or anything even like that! This should be an election based on what you think, and who fits best with your opinions of the world!

So with that in mind, I present to you CNN.com’s list of where the candidates stand on each issue:

CNN.com’s Issues

Look it over, and decide. Remember, it’s OK to keep your vote to yourself, heck it’s probably even best. It’s those who are the loudest who are probably the least sure of what they believe!

Appreciate the song for what it is, a good if not great musical track
, but don’t let the message influence how you feel about our current president, or next president.

Without supporting either guy, we expect a good race!

The Nooge (for Boomer!) signing off!

Is that it really isn’t that fun when you a terrible at it!

I think Senator Obama would agree:

I kid, bowling is really about the $1.50 beers and who you bowl with. It’s just good times with Boomer, Dave, Matt D (of Bowtie Betting fame), and myself. We have about the same press coverage as the senator had.

I know Boomer takes pics on his phone of his bowling scores, I think maybe I should start doing that to prove to the world that, yes, I really am as bad at bowling as I claim. My average last night was around 110ish, maybe a bit more, but the point is that bowling isn’t a game. It’s serious stuff when you bowl with the pros I do. Maybe we should do a “Bowl with the WestSideWill Crew” event at the local brunswick zone.

I dunno…I’ll have Dave bring a camera next week so you all can enjoy what we are doing! Have a great Thursday night and don’t forget to check out The Return of Boomer & The Nooge and The Top 10 Unsigned Artist Countdown Presented by: Digital Disc Duplication at 8pm Central time Friday Night!!!!!

How can he not? He brought Daddy Yankee out with him!

Yes! Awesome…just awesome. The ball is in your court now Obama, impress me if you can! (Is this presidential election seeming very strange to everyone yet?) It almost feels like when 2 popular kids at school have a party at the same time and they are just trying to bribe people to go to there party with different bottles of booze. Only instead of booze they have celebrities and instead of a party they want your votes!

Strangest Election Ever!
