Let me start of this whole blog extravaganza by saying, I’m not really HUGE into Halloween. In fact, as a kid, Halloween used to really really creep me out, and it didn’t always seem like a great idea to go to some houses for candy.

Ok, with that out of the way I’m going to have to be honest again and say, I’m not going to be a nerd who isn’t going to be awesome for Halloween, love it or hate it I have a reputation to uphold. Last year the plan was for myself and Kenny to go as Bacardi and Cola, who are Bacardi and Cola? Look below:

A great idea right? But due to complaints about typecasting (how come I had to play the white guy?!?!?!) this idea never really came through as good as it could have.

So now I want to do something awesome for Halloween and did some searching on google to see what that old search engine monster could find, and it turns out even google seems to think that Halloween is like the hot chick Olympics.

Let’s be honest here, Halloween is the one time of year when girls actually dress like those chicks you see in movies (you know, the type of movies that Dave has all over his hard drive on his WORK computer, or the ones you are hiding under your bed at this very moment). That’s why we all want to be a part of it, and that’s why you can’t show up to a Halloween party looking like a sucker!

Which brings me to the reason I am writing this blog, I need Halloween costume ideas! I need something great, something that would have been as epic as Bacardi and cola, something that will have a chick turn to me and call me a “shark!”. As I’m sure many of you know, along with the great top 10 unsigned artist countdown presented by digitaldiscduplication.com, there was a presidential debate tonight. It was an OK watch (I was only able to watch the very end of it), but there was one glaring problem, they dodged the issue that I care the most about. Where do you stand on the great cheerleader uniform debate?

What am I talking about?

The Idaho Vandals cheerleaders will undergo a makeover in less than a month after spectators complained their uniforms are too skimpy.

While some fans thought the uniforms were too revealing, a number liked them, said Bruce Pitman, dean of students.

Here is where my problem with this whole situation lies: These are COLLEGE CHEERLEADERS, they aren’t high school kids, they are “adults”. So I’m not sure wearing a uniform that is like a NFL cheerleader is a BAD thing, or that it’s wrong. Let’s take a look at some of the pictures eh?

Fun Fact: Idaho is 1-3 this season with a 70 point loss to Arizona to their credit. Dare I say the only thing about Idaho football that doesn’t suck this year are their cheerleader uniforms?

Where do the candidates stand on this issue?!?!?! Honestly? Because I think this is an important thing to talk about during a debate that usually gets a little heavy, Iraq this, economy that, where is the cheerleader discussion? Quit dodging the issue!!!!!

So if you listened to today’s Unsigned Artist Showcase you will know that I was perplexed trying to come up with the name of the Captain that Michael Jackson played in this Disney movie.

At first no one believed me, but then Matt D. came through with some real knowledge this morning, he played “Captain EO”. I thought it was Captain Nemo, so I was kind of close. Anyway I found the vids on YouTube…Enjoy:

Captain EO is a leader of a ragtag bunch, I bet Matt D. feels the same way about being here at WestSideWill Radio. I think Dave is the Hooter (the elephant) of our team. And often times we have to dance and sing for our survival.

Side note: I don’t remember this movie being so weird…I’m kind of creeped out by it to be 100% honest. Anywhooo, enjoy your Tuesday!

It’s Friday, I’m at home sick, but I can still log onto our site and blog, so I decided to drop some knowledge on some people…some knowledge called “Starwars Gangsta Rap”. Now this video was around a little bit before youtube and other video sites really took off, so it was made popular on it’s quality, not on it’s ease of sharing. Sit back, and enjoy the rap!

Also there is a Part 2…Not as old school (I guess everything has a sequel now doesn’t it? It just seems like they are trying too hard on this one…)

Here are 5 songs that are on the MTV Summer “HITS” 2008 CD that make you go hmmmmmm…MTV is going to have to define HIT for me (In fact I’m not even sure it’s the MTV I know and love…I just found the track list online), but They found me some Funny music videos…so thanks for that (by the way I’m pretty sure this CD is an international CD or something…in fact, I have no idea what the heck it is…so let’s just enjoy the videos!!!!):

5) “Scream” Timbaland ft Keri Hilson and Nicole Scherzinger
* This video contains 2 hot chicks, who I’d do, BUT…why does Timbaland just feel like talking and what not? Honestly though, tell me you wouldn’t do Keri Hilson or Nicole Scherzinger! (Makes me want to quit Radio DJing and become a producer!!!!!)…but sadly the song is junk (Unless one of those chicks is reading this, then I think the song is great! Buy the album!!!!)

*What is a Blog 27? I have no idea…I don’t even know what this is, I don’t know what’s going on in the video, I’m so confused…I guess that’s why it comes in at #4?

3) T.A.T.U “Belyi Plaschik (White Robe)”
*What…the…heck…are…they…saying? And that one chick is pregnant? What the hell is this? It’s #3!!!! Good news! I actually found the English version, so that’s what I’ll post (Dude the UNCENSORED Russian one is just weird…so let’s stick with the English yes?). It makes less sense in English I think.

I was just thinking to myself, “I really haven’t been hearing enough about the wack-jobs out there, I wonder if they got real jobs?” turns out they haven’t, but they have found something awesome to get behind.

The world will end tomorrow(Wednesday) morning sometime when the “Large Hadron Collider” gets powered up for a test run. That’s right folks, the world is going to end because some idiots want to see how the universe began. (And try to create a black hole…that seems like a really good idea. Haven’t they seen the movie “Event Horizon”?)

Let’s talk a quick second about the “Large Hadron Collider”, what it does, in super duper simplified words, is send 2 particles at each other going super duper fast to try and create different types of matter and what not. This Large Hadron Collider is the biggest of it’s kind, so no one is really sure what it could do. Including, according to some:

- Earth and all matter eaten by Strangelets. What is a Strangelet? A strangelet is short for Strange Nugget! Kind of like those you used to get from McDonald’s before they changed to all white meat. Anywhooo, what those crazy non McDonald’s nuggets do is change matter they touch into more strange matter. It’s like that one book about the kid with the chocolate touch, everything that touched his tongue turned to chocolate, but strange matter isn’t chocolate, it’s strange. You don’t want to be strange. (An alternate theory involves Strange Nuggets that don’t change matter, but just blow up instead.)

- Earth could be devoured by a microscopic black hole. The point of this whole experiment is to make something of a black hole, so I guess if they do so you don’t really want to be around when it happens. They say a black hole is so dense that it eats all matter, kind of like those strange nuggets, except for instead of being turned into strange matter, you’ll just be crushed. I’m not sure which is better. (An alternate theory is that the tiny black hole will just devour most of the Earth, but a portion of the Earth could in theory be left. Did I mention that they are doing all of this under France? In some 14 mile tunnel between France and Switzerland to be exact. Let’s just hope they don’t make a portal to some alternate world where they have to fight the bad guys out…or we are all in trouble. I’m not trying to be rude, but if it’s a war for our survival I’m not thinking I want France and Switzerland to be the two countries holding it down for us.)

After doing a bit of research the odds of one of the above happening are a little bit better than 1 in 50 million. Meaning, if you could win the lottery you could in theory destroy Earth. Here is hoping one of those scientists aren’t that lucky unlucky.

Anyway…that got me thinking, what would I do my last day on Earth? And my answer can be summed up pretty quickly with something a man named ‘Jethro’ once said in the Beverly Hillbillies movie when asked what he would do with a million bucks or something…

“Two chicks at once”. Hmmmmmmm, I think I have about the same 50,000,000:1 odds as the scientists of making that happen. In fact they probably have better odds….

That’s right sports(and drinking) fans! Ivan Ukhov is accused of drinking Red Bull and Vodka during a track and field meet in Switzerland!

The IAAF (a track and field governing body if you will) wants Ivan to explain himself. Until Ivan does the event organizers are refusing to pay his expenses (which is what they do if you are a track dude). Here is where things get interested, alcohol is not considered a performance enhancer.

At this point I’d like to enter exhibit A into evidence:

Another thing to point out is the the IAAF does not formally have alcohol as a banned substance at meets. So I’m curious as to what they are going to do to this guy, he didn’t do anything wrong, but then again he didn’t exactly do the smartest thing if he wanted to win an event.

I kid, bowling is really about the $1.50 beers and who you bowl with. It’s just good times with Boomer, Dave, Matt D (of Bowtie Betting fame), and myself. We have about the same press coverage as the senator had.

I know Boomer takes pics on his phone of his bowling scores, I think maybe I should start doing that to prove to the world that, yes, I really am as bad at bowling as I claim. My average last night was around 110ish, maybe a bit more, but the point is that bowling isn’t a game. It’s serious stuff when you bowl with the pros I do. Maybe we should do a “Bowl with the WestSideWill Crew” event at the local brunswick zone.

Look, I’m as shocked as you are that I’m blogging again but stranger things have happened a.k.a The Date the Intern escapade. Anyways I was taking in the local sites and sounds at The Last Fling in Naperville, which is a carnival of sorts signifying the end of summer, and happened to find out that The Doobie Brothers, a 70′s powerhouse, were performing that very night. As a cultured radio personality I wasn’t about to waste this opportunity to take in a concert with hundreds of middle aged Doobers. One hour and forty five minutes later I was still singing “Taking it to the streets” as I stumbled back to my car with a half eaten elephant ear in my hand. Obviously I never saw them in their prime but man can they still harmonize with the best of them. I was very upset when I missed other acts in the past such as the handsome REO Speed Wagon and the sandwich selling Hootie and The Blowfish, but after the tantalizing vocals of “Black Water” I knew I could sleep easy. I wouldn’t be surprised if their music was getting downloaded at a record pace, not that we at Westsidewill condone such activities. Tasty elephant ears and rockin’ beats were at the forfront of my weekend, what about you?
