Labor Day Weekend!

Historically this is one of my favorite holiday weekends of the year! Labor day; where football gets played, and you don’t have any school or work on Monday (and usually a half day Friday)! Don’t get me wrong I love my job here at WestSideWill Radio, but I think we can all agree that a day off is awesome!

Sadly not everyone is going to have the day off! Our friends in different countries who hit up this site probably have to work, and I know our internet wizard Matt D. is going to be in tomorrow making some updates to the site (you all will probably get an email explaining what some of the changes are all about). Yep, we put Matt D. to work on the holiday, but to be fair he loves it.

Those wacky internet dudes love work, if they could they would work 24/7 365 for free!!!! Maybe not. Have a great labor day everyone, go out and enjoy the weekend!!!!!

Normally clean cut and clean mouthed DMX let an F-Bomb go today in court. Yep, that’s right, DMX said a cuss word. Which is weird because I wouldn’t think he has ever used a potty word in his life, and to find out he did so in a court of law..>GASP!!!

Slow news day eh?

How can he not? He brought Daddy Yankee out with him!

Yes! Awesome…just awesome. The ball is in your court now Obama, impress me if you can! (Is this presidential election seeming very strange to everyone yet?) It almost feels like when 2 popular kids at school have a party at the same time and they are just trying to bribe people to go to there party with different bottles of booze. Only instead of booze they have celebrities and instead of a party they want your votes!

Strangest Election Ever!

Here is a song that isn’t getting out there quite like it should, in my opinion.

N.E.R.D feat Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Pusha T
“Everyone Nose Remix”

It’s a really good track now that it has Kanye and Pusha T…Lupe didn’t exactly do his best work here, it isn’t bad, but I think the award for overachieving on a track should go to Pusha T of the Clipse.

Have a great Sunday, if you have any hot tracks I should check out comment em, or hit me up!

Jail Birds?!

So I’m back in action on the blogging tour and I have got a goodin for you. With all these animal posts ie. Bigfoot and the Knighted Penguin, this one is just as great. A pigeon has been incarcerated in a Bosnian prison for smuggling heroine to the inmates. I’ll let that marinate for a bit……..a pigeon had been taken into custody by police, who have launched an investigation aimed at identifying those who had loaded it up with the drugs.

“We do not know what to do with the pigeon, but for the time being it will remain behind bars,” Jail official Josip Pojavnik said. The prison has considered whether to close a prisoner pigeon-breeding program project established as part of the rehabilitation program, despite the fact that they believe none of those pigeons where used.

I’ve got to hand it to those guys training a pigeon to be a drug smuggler is quite an accomplishment. Miss America contestants train birds to fly around to music or something and take years to do so and these guys get them to fly 40 miles with bags of heroin attached to it. I think they should get a prize or something like extra outside time or at least a good book. A penguin gets knighted one day and a pigeon gets jailed for drug smuggling? Watch out world the animals are slowly taking over!!!!

Enjoy Arts & Sciences,

That’s right folks if you are a Da Vinci Code fan like I am, then you think puzzles are great, you will love this story.

A couple in Madison Wisconsin claims to have cracked the code for the lottery! Bet you didn’t think there was a code to be cracked in the “Stupid People Tax” did you? Well how wrong you are, read the story here: Local Couple: Dumber than the Dumb Tax?

Honestly, for me, the best part of the story is how they had to consult a math professor, just to be sure that there wasn’t really a code to break the lottery. Actually, I do know how to beat the lotto, it’s called luck. How about that? They just had a lucky ass week, probably boxed some numbers and had multiple winning tickets.

Either way, I love how this is a news story! Thank you Wisconsin for filling the void left after Big Foot was faked and the Knighted Penguin went about his duty!

Bowling Night!

Last night was bowling night, and we did go out there and keep it real on the lanes. Let me be very honest though, I don’t really recall bowling that much cause I’m not a fan of the game, I’m a fan of the $1 beers. It was a good time.

But here is where the fun started, after bowling Hot Joel and I hit up the casino. Now I’m not gambling expert like our friends at Bowtie Betting, but I did well for myself. I hit up the video poker machine and doubled my cash in a little over an hour. Hot Joel on the other hand didn’t fare so well. I think that winning and drinking are directly linked. The more you drink the more you win, and the more you win the more you drink.

Anywhooo let’s talk about the big news story of the day:

As I’ve noted in a previous blog those two Georgia guys who say they found Big Foot were actually pulling a fast one on us! Shocker right? But here is the fun part, the 2 are now on the run from a promoter who gave them $50,000! How long can you hide out on $50,000? I think once our 2 heroes actually get out of Georgia they are going to learn you can’t live the rest of your life on $50,000.

This was their grand scheme? Get $50,000…then what? Retire?

Not a real well thought out plan…but an enjoyable plan to watch come to fruition!

Have a good Thursday!

Or not. Look some colleges and Universities throughout the U.S. are thinking it’s a good idea for the drinking age to be lowered to 18. I don’t know what to say to that other than…It’s probably not the BEST idea they have ever had, but I’m not sure it’s a terrible idea.

The presidents of about 100 colleges and universities say current alcohol laws may actually encourage binge drinking on campuses. They say U.S. lawmakers should consider lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18.

Critics, such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving, say the change would lead to more fatal car crashes and move the problem of underage drinking from college campuses to high schools.

(Source: http://www.ireport.com/ir-topic-stories.jspa?topicId=62630)

Stay with me here, for those of you who actually were in college, but I think it’s a terrible idea for 18 year old chicks (and some dudes) to legally drink at 18. I don’t care what you say, call me sexist (or a guy who hates on dudes who can’t handle booze), but it’s a fact 18 year old chicks (or some dudes) aren’t exactly the best drunks of all time. Can you imagine them legally crammed into bars? We all knew (or know) some 18 year olds who either a) Try to start a fight every time they are dunk, or b) who really cannot handle themselves at all when they are drunk. Then do you want those same 18 year olds deciding if they are too drunk to drive?

Not me.

But there is a good half to this as well; you are 18, you are paying taxes, you are voting, AND you can fight, and in some cases die, for your country. If you can pay and die, you can drink. That sounds fair to me. It’s an interesting debate. If I had a vote I would say, lower it for those with Military IDs, but not others, just for the fact that I like being able to drive at night without being worried about an 18 year old drunk (I’m not saying they aren’t on the road already, but if the drinking age is lowered there will be more of em). Personally I think MADD goes overboard at times with worrying about stuff…but, as much as I hate to say this, I’m with em’ on this one.

It’s weird, but it’s a neato debate and I wonder what the outcome will be.

Enjoy your booze!

As most of you know, or should know, Hurricane Fay (yeah, Fay…what a bad name anywhoo…) is sweeping across the southern part of Florida. What does this mean? Waves, Water, Rain, Wind, and all around bad weather. What do you not want to do in bad weather? “Kite Surf”, why? Watch:

Yep…that fellow thought it was a good idea to get out there and show the world what he’s got, the only problem with that is he showed us what he didn’t have…a brain!

Don’t kite surf.

Actually used to care about what they did in regards to music? When they weren’t just about getting attention or “ratings”. Honestly when I heard that Britney Spears was up for Video of the year I thought…OK it’s possible, not probable but possible, but then when I saw ‘Fall Out Boy’ was up for “ROCK” video of the year I puked.

Fall Out Boy is about as much rock as 2ge+her (remember MTV’s make believe boy band?). Fall Out Boy is from IL so in theory I should support them, until they sang “Take Me Out To the Ballgame” like a bunch of jackasses while at Wrigley field. If you aren’t going to take that seriously then don’t do it.

Kind of like the way I don’t take their music seriously, so I don’t listen to it. I’m just saying…MTV should just drop their whole music thing, it isn’t working. They should just do shows like the Hills or whatever it is that they do now.

Keep Rockin’
