Day #2

Day 2 of my vegetarian experience was today, once again not a bad. I did however start to notice that I am not really full ever (basically what Mike from Icepaw said would happen).

Here is my day:

7:45am Breakfast, which was a rice crispy treat! No meat in that, score one for me and snap, crackle and pop!

8:30am Went for a run. Off day of lifting so I ran a few miles, truth be told it was harder than it probably should have been. I’m not going to chalk that up to not eating enough meat, I’m going to chalk that up to it being 95 and sunny at 8:30.

12:00pm Lunch. Egg sandwich on asiago cheese bread. Pretty good, not really missing meat yet. Although…

5:30pm Dinner. Fun fact, at Arby’s today they had $.99 regular roast beef sandwiches! I love Arby’s and my brother bought a bag full…just to get me to fail my bet. But I held strong and ate a grilled cheese with Arby’s Horsey sauce on it!

That’s basically my day. Not really that much great food going on, but if you were to ask me if I’m missing meat yet I can tell you no way. And you know why? Because I have great videos to keep me inline!!!!

Enjoy:

Day #1

It’s day 1 of my vegetarian experience, everything *seems* normal. I feel a little bit weak like I haven’t eaten anything, although I have already had 3 “meals”. So far my Day has gone like this:

7:30am Blueberry Filled Breakfast bar with Frosting (Great tasting but a little sweet for morning, oh well)
7:45am Worked out at the gym like regular, no real issues with lifting at this point.
11:00am After Workout Shake (Muscle Milk protein stuff)
3:00pm Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly Sandwich! Pretty good stuff, although to be honest I don’t handle milk real well so I had to have it with a glass of water…not the best.

It is currently 4:44pm, I plan on getting done with my work here at WSW and heading home to eat something for dinner…something without meat. No idea what but thanks to Mike from Icepaw ( http://www.myspace.com/icepaw ) and Phillup from Black Saint Parade ( http://www.myspace.com/blacksaintparade ) for some great meal ideas.

Fun fact, if you go back to the first blog I wrote on this called, “The Bet” Mike posted a link to a gross…gross video but it does the job. Really doesn’t make you want to eat meat for a while. Although, so we are clear, I’m not doing this because I feel bad about eating meat, I’m just doing it because I don’t think I NEED to eat meat (and to win a bet).

A quick thought before I give you my inspiration of the day, I hope this lack of meat doesn’t destroy my bowling game!!!!

Here is a video that I like that helps me get through this vegetarian bet:

Have a great Wednesday!

The Bet

My younger brother and I were talking today, over dinner which consisted of Tacos, about how I could probably be OK with a taco that didn’t have any meat. Somehow that conversation lead to him saying how I couldn’t go a day without eating meat, and thus a bet was born.

He is betting me that I can’t go a month without eating meat, and I have to tell you I think this is easy money (and a not so bad blog idea).

Here are the rules:

- NO meat (The usual suspects; beef, chicken, pork…)
- NO FISH (Being Catholic we sometimes don’t feel the need to count fish as a meat)
- Eggs and Milk are OK. So is Cheese and any other animal products that the animal didn’t die in making.
- The Bet runs from Tonight after dinner (So 5pm Central time July 29th) to August 28.

That’s about all of the rules. Things like chicken broth and what not are OK. You use that for soups and stuff and don’t need to have meat in em.

Here are my fears about the bet: I’m going to lose a lot of muscle. I’ve been working out at a pretty good clip lifting weights and what not for the better part of 3 months and I am a bit worried it will all go to waste, but is it really going to waste when it goes trying to win a bet? I think not.

I’ll blog about how I do each day, why? Because I know you all care very much. And if you have any awesome vegetarian foods I need to know about get at me!

Remember when…

We were trying to get dave a date with awesome videos? Well guess what? We are going to post em again with hopes of dave landing a few babes! (How can anyone resist these vids?)

The one that started that all. This video helped show the world what we know our intern to be, a young man with a dream. A dream to perhaps ride a flying carpet with a special lady like Aladdin did:

The second video, more of a response from Dave about some of the negative pub he was receiving. Ladies don’t you want a man who can wear a fur like this:

Oh that’s not enough yet? Well how about a guy who has more athletic ability than a turtle or a 500 pound man?

Now I have one question after these videos, which lady out there DOESN’T want to date the intern?

Have a great Monday!

I like to try to post good music as I find it, mainstream or Unsigned (Although if you want to hear the best Unsigned stuff tune into the top 10 show on www.westsidewill.com/radio ) and here is one that is awesome:

Kardinal Offishall Featuring the Clipse “Set it Off”

Who is Kardinal Offishall? Only the best Canadian rapper ever! Or more like the only Canadian rapper I can name at the moment, either way, I’m a fan. I liked his bacardi track back a few years ago. And if you don’t know the Clipse they are Malice and Pusha T (You may know them from Justin Timberlake’s track “Like I love you”. Anywhooooooooo this is a song to bump when you hear it, enjoy!

Have a great Sunday!!!

I was clicking around youtube and a video got me thinking, what happens if we as a country really do decide to get rid of the paper dollar? Remember those $1 coins that came into circulation a few years back? Those coins were intended to see if people would use them more than the $1 bill so we can save a little bit of cash on printing charges (coins last WAYYYYYYY longer than their paper counterparts).

Anywhooo that really got me thinking, if we only had coins we would be like pirates! We’d all have to carry money around in leather sacks and I assume we’d have to carry a lot of money around in a treasure chest! Here is an example of what would happen if we only started using coins:

And what did this video teach us? #1, that there are some places that will not be ready for when pirate time comes, and #2 you can by a whole darn lot of crayons for $1.00!!!!

Have a good/great Thursday!

Hurl!

Let’s talk bad T.V. shows! Or just one bad T.V. show, I’m pretty easy with my television show reviews, but not today.

G4 T.V. has a new show called Hurl! Here is the idea, 3 contestants eat as much as they can, and do crazy ass “stunts” or games that are designed to make them throw up! At first I know exactly what you are thinking, a show this great can’t be bad…sadly that isn’t the case.

This is a terrible show, I think because people generally don’t care to watch others puke with bad play by play guys talking all sorts of jibber jabber in the background. Yeah I’m surprised as you are, G4TV dropping the ball on a show? No way.

Here is some fun for you today! (This is why you leave some jobs to professionals…G4 looking in your direction!!!! I kid, G4 has some great shows…)

I’ve sort of hijacked the blog. I’m really the only one who blogs here so I’m going to call this my blog space from now on. What do you guys want to know about the Nooge as a person? I’m sure you can read my intro blog found by clicking on www.westsidewill.com/thenooge and then scrolling to the bottom of the page where links to all of my old blogs are. But what should you all really know about me?

Well for starters I’m going to come right out and say I’m not a real serious person, I make fun of people and things, and I think nothing is funnier than seeing some “X TREAM!” sports guy crash with his bad haircut:

Yep, that video is awesome and I think describes how I feel about people!!!

…I kid!

High five everyone, have a great rest of your Sunday!

Wow UFC…Wow…

On the subject of wasting 3 hours of a Saturday night, UFC had me covered! And I’d like to thank them. Not only did I get to see some really really terrible fights (when I should have been watching affliction, and that’s all my fault for not springing for the $40) I also was able to see one of the worst, if not corrupt, decisions in all of sports.

Let me put it this way:

1) You can’t poke someone in the eye in mma
2) If you do, at first, you get a warning
3) If you continue to use that eye poking move, you get DQ’d or get a point deduction
4) Apparently, though, in the UFC you can poke in the eye and WIN!!! Hooray!

Honestly, UFC did more to make me dislike MMA than it did to get me to be a fan. I’m not a hardcore MMA fan, I’m a fight fan. I like boxing, and I really really want to like MMA because it seems as if MMA is trying to be non-corrupt, but apparently no one told UFC. Tonight was a garbage event, a waste of time, but give credit where credit is due. UFC managed to get me not to order the affliction PPV, which was their goal all along. Well played UFC, well played.
